Our History
The Georgetown-Scott County Regional Airport started its operation in 1993 with a 4,000 foot runway and one 80x100 hanger and no income. Today, thanks to the foresight of city and county leaders, the Georgetown-Scott County Airport has:

  • From an original five hundred dollar investment by the Airport Board in 1987, the airport is now valued over twenty million dollars
  • 5,500 foot runway with a parallel taxiway
  • Three instrument approaches
  • High intensity lighting system
  • 80x100 community hanger with terminal expansion coming soon
  • Four T-hanger buildings, each storing eleven aircraft
  • One series of six box hangars
  • Two 66x100 leasehold hangars
  • Two 100x120 corporate heated hangars
  • Maintenance equipment capable of maintaining the runway and premises in all kinds of weather.
  • Sales this year of over 1.3 million dollars
  • Two air charter operations on the field
  • Ninety based aircraft on the field of which many are corporate aircraft
